Now let's look at what we get for our Gold / Doubloons & Premium Time across both games. Premium account time costs are identical (and are linked across accounts). So let's put some factual values to World of Tanks purchases vs World of Warships purchases. Why then, do they feel the need in WoWS to more than double the price tag on the most common premium purchases, even as they make those purchases far more numerous? They've had no trouble whatsoever making truckloads of money with WoT, even as they relentlessly drive the game into the ground. The only content locked behind money are premium warships, and even many of those are made available for free through contests and giveaways. You're encouraged to spend money, but you're not required to spend money. I never understand why there's so much hostility for a game that has almost no pay wall. The golden rule for understanding WG's actions is simple: CASH, CASH, CASH, and CASH.Ĭause heaven forbid that Wargaming try and earn back their costs for a game they otherwise hand out for free. It's why things like de-mounting upgrades cost 250% what they do in WoT, basically everything about captain skills is slower and more costly, and they keep delaying the Gold/Doubloon merge so that all of this must be paid for with freshly bought currency instead of the mountains of free gold they keep throwing about to keep people playing WoT. That also helps explain why we'll probably never see Accelerated Training - from the very beginning, WoWS has been built to squeeze players for money. Yeah, it's a cash grab, plain and simple.
